Sharon Cadwell of Macy's Exton Square in Philadelphia is the 2008 Carol Reiser/Partners in Time Volunteer of the Year. She receives a crystal clock – symbolizing her gift of time to the community – and a donation of $1,000 will be made in her name to ConKerr Cancer. Sharon also gives her time and leadership for hunger relief efforts, the American Cancer Society "Relay for Life" and holiday adopt-a-family projects.
Occasionally Carol Reiser judges also recognize a runner-up. This year, John Basgall of Macy's San Francisco was acknowledged for his exemplary community service efforts for the hunger cause.
Other Carol Reiser nominees included:
Bob Dunn – Corporate Services, Cincinnati
Choice Fuqua – Macy's Cumberland, Atlanta
Nancy Grabow – Macy's City Place, West Palm Beach, FL
Gloria Harrison – Logistics, Stone Mountain, GA
Pam Holbrook – Credit Services, Cincinnati
Carol Reiser founded Partners in Time in Atlanta in 1989 and the Macy's, Inc. National Volunteer of the Year Award is now presented in her memory. The award is given to one Macy's, Inc. associate each year who best exemplifies the Partners in Time mission of "sharing our time to make a difference."
