The innovative renovation of
Bloomingdale's New York City
flagship store at 59th Street and
Lexington Avenue continues,
ahead of schedule. The renowned
859,000-square-foot, 12-level
store, opened first in 1886, is
making way for a brand new
fragrance department, complete
with a Memoire Liquide custom
perfume counter, new vendors in
the cosmetics area – including
Jo Malone, Giorgio Armani Beauty,
shu uemura and Sisley. The store
also received a completely
renovated men's department
on the lower and main levels,
including a new world of Polo
Ralph Lauren, a Turnbull & Asser
shop and a wall of more than
1,000 sunglasses. By the end of
next year, nearly 75 percent of the
selling space in the store will have
been remodeled and upgraded,
as well as all the fitting rooms,
restroom lounges and other
customer amenities.
